AEGIS.net, Inc. and joint venture partners Tellenger and Wexler Technical Solutions (WTS) are pleased to announce that we have been awarded a contract with CIO-SP3 for Small Businesses. This joint venture, known as 2275 Solutions–which refers to the office building on Research Boulevard in Rockville, MD that we all share–was created to leverage the strengths of each small business as we work to fulfill both the technical requirements of NITAAC and the IT needs of the current and future healthcare industry.
Our CIO-SP3 contract will allow us to compete for work in ten task areas, as well as join the ranks of over 200 exemplary IT small businesses.
Upon receiving this contract, we spoke with Jason Hannah, Vice President of Business Development at AEGIS, who emphasized the significance of this contract and the positive impact it will have on the members of 2275 Solutions:
“CIO-SP3 is a Best in Class (BIC) contract vehicle which demonstrates the contract holders’ maturity and technical capabilities as well as their readiness to provide a wide array of services to the government for other partners who are seeking access to the vehicle itself.”
In addition to its prestige, CIO-SP3 Small Business offers a competitive advantage to contract holders over horizontal competitors, many of which do not have access to CIO-SP3 itself.
Mr. Hannah also discussed the significance of the contract in light of the increasing use of BICs by agency procurement authorities. “BICs are required use by the Government Services Administration (GSA) and increasingly by agency procurement authorities to ensure that contracted dollars are properly competed, performed, and align with all spending regulations.”
“GSA has been focused on increasing “Spend Under Management”, or SUM, which pushes efficiency, cost comparison, and control through competition, and increasing control in how funds are both spent and reported,” he continued. “By being a good industry partner and allowing both access and cost control to be managed using our certified processes, both the partner and the government get their contracted mission accomplished while still satisfying their contractual goals.”
