AEGIS was first appraised against the Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) in 2009. The CMMI helps us deliver consistently high-quality information technology services in both agile and traditional environments. We are currently credited with operating at Maturity Level 3 in both the Development (DEV) and Services (SVC) constellations including Service System Development (SSD). It turns out, there are only five (5) organizations in the world that are appraised this way at this level. We’re pretty excited about that. And so is the CMMI Institute. They have published a Case Study that describes what the CMMI process model has meant to AEGIS especially from the perspective of being a small, growing business. As you can see from their Wall of Fame of “Who Uses CMMI” we’re in some amazing company. Hit Wikipedia for a general overview of the CMMI. We’re getting ready for our third organizational appraisal later this year, to be guided once again by Dr. Richard Bechtold of Abridge Technology. If you would like more information about how the CMMI helps AEGIS do great things, let me know. I’m always happy to discuss it as well as the outstanding university, my alma mater, where it was invented!
